Website: Improving interactivity

At the top of our website, we decided to have scrolling banner with different images, and allow the audience to click on the image to go to a certain page.  This increases the interactivity for the audience, causing them to engage more with the website and therefore be more likely to stay. Below are two examples of what we included in the banner.

When this part of the banner is clicked on, it takes the audience through to the Music Video page

This one leads the audience to our competition page

We also included a scrolling social media feed, which shows content from our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. This allows the audience to keep up with the band and interact with the band via social media, without having to leave the site, once again ensuring that they remain within our site. This works well with the social media buttons that we have at the bottom right of the page, ensuring that people have the opportunity to like and share the content on our website as well as our individual social media pages.

We decided to create a competition, in which the audience have the chance to win a chance to meet the band, gig tickets, and a signed album. This was done to incorporate social media as well, as the audience have to use Twitter and upload a video of them dancing to the song.

Our competition page, explaining how they can enter the competition and what they can win. This creates more interactivity as they are using social media to engage/interact with the band, with the re-tweet button available on the page to make entry easier for them.

Our inspiration for this competition was McFly's 'Love on the Radio' competition, where fans had the chance to be part of a fan video for the song.

The McFly competition that inspired our own

We also added a contact page so that the audience could send a message to the band members, and also made changes to the store, changing it to show the prices, separate the products and show the product in large when clicked.

The new store, showing the products and their prices, rather than making it all seem like one image.
The contact page did change though, as we created a sign-up so the audience could sign up to newsletters, etc., but still send the band a message if they didn't want to sign up.

This allows the audience to send the band a message, without making sign-up compulsory in order to do so.
