Website: Changing the About pages

For the website, we decided to have a page that showed all four members of the band, and gave the audience information about the history of the band. This page then links on to the four individual about pages.

The main 'About' page has pictures of each of the band members with their instruments, to reinforce the band's identity, while the individual photos begin to give an insight into the individual identities of each member.

Before we could create the about pages, we had to decide upon what each of their names would be. We chose Eli Minate for Jacob, Lumi Lee-Patrick for Chrystal, Brendan Smith for myself, and Geo Coleman for Audrey. We decided on names like Geo and Lumi because they are quite unique, while the surnames are more regular to still make them quite relatable, i.e. Coleman.

 

We decided to use interviews on the about pages rather than biographies, as it is easier for the audience to read, and still allows them to find out more about the band members. This contributes to the creation of their star-images, while allowing audience engagement and satisfying their curiosity.

The questions that we asked varied from serious to playful, with 'How did you and Geo first meet?' asked to Chrystal, giving the audience more information about the band's history, and 'If you had to, which band member would you marry?'.

On each of the pages, we tried to choose a picture that portrayed their personality traits, with Jacob's showing off his cute/innocent character, Audrey's displaying her as upbeat, Chrystal being shown to be serious and cool, while mine is very playful.

We drew inspiration for our main about page from San Cisco's website, and Walk The Moon's, as they are both of the same genre.

San Cisco's included a brief summary of the band, which we decided to expand on with ours so that the audience could build more of a relationship with Sticky and The Melonheads

Walk The Moon used a picture of the entire page at the top of their about page, so we decided including all of the members would be a good idea, helping to establish the band identity.
