During our next production meeting, it was agreed that we needed to make the disco floor, and solidly agree on what Jacob was going to wear during the 70s shots.

The group (and Lucas) making the disco floor |
We looked online to see if there were any cheap 'disco floor' mats that we could source, but after realising that they were above £15 for one, we decided to make it ourselves. To do this, glued an stapled together pieces of black sugar paper for the base, and then cut squares out of coloured sugar paper, which we organised in a pattern and then stuck down.

One of the Saturday Night Fever Disco Scenes |
In order to ensure we were making it correctly for the era, we used Saturday Night Fever as a reference, which told us that it was essentially a floor with coloured squares and black spaces in between. Using this as a reference for the disco floor made sense, as Saturday Night Fever is iconically 70s, so would be easily recognisable by our target audience.
