Above is the final cut of our second dance sequence. In this, we decided to use the split screens, with either two or three eras. This is better as, as with the tiled-style, four eras was very distracting and took the focus off of the couple, whereas having either two or three maintains the focus on the couple while also speeding up the editing pace, making the video look more interesting visually.
I found editing this quite difficult, and a long process, as when I started trying to edit it I didn't know how to create the split-screens, so after having a look at what was previously done I was able to begin doing it slowly. It became easier to edit after a while, but cutting to the music was also quite difficult, as in some parts the dominant instrument is the guitar, and in others it is the drums. I tried to edit to whatever was the most suitable instrument at that point in the song, cutting at some points to the drum beat, and others at chord changes.
In the end, this helped to change the pace of the video during the second dance, which makes it far more interesting to watch as there is more going on. It builds to a better climax, and the feedback that we received on the second dance was that it was much better and had more of an impact now, with some members of the audience also saying they enjoyed watching it more with this editing style.
